Mighty Pen – Musings & Spilled Words
Welcome. I'm so happy that you dropped by!
I write, even though most days I don’t feel like writing. I have a full-time job, and I am always telling myself that I don’t have time to write. Now that I am officially part of the “over 60” crowd, with less sand in my hourglass, I feel less of a need to hold back my feelings.
To borrow from a scene in the movie Cold Mountain, from Maddy, the old woman in the woods with the goats, who renders aid to Inman, “What are they gonna do? Cut short my young life?” Really, what more can this world take from me on account of me writing about the truths I have experienced?
My writing today is much different than it was during my younger days. Back then it was all about writing short stories about fantasy, adventure and romance. Today it is mostly about bringing awareness to wrongs that need to be righted. My writing planner still has bits and pieces of romance stories waiting for their last words to be written, but sadly they’ve had to take a back seat to stories of evil doers doing their evil deeds.
One of my favorite quotes, is often attributed to Edmund Burke. He said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” I think that it is because of this, that I put my pen to the task of writing. I have neither a sword, nor the strength to wield one, but a pen, this I do have.
Suffice it to say some of you will like what I write, and some of you won’t, and some of you will have no opinion what so ever. All comments are welcome, and the highest compliment that can be offered would be to share my posts with everyone you know.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
