Verizon – It’s Just A Simple Return

Verizon is certainly giving me a lot to write about. Verizon’s latest display of incompetence is rather astounding.

In a previous post I wrote that during a text with Verizon regarding an outage, Verizon took it upon themselves to send me a new FIOS Router. We both knew that there was nothing wrong with my Fios Quantum Gateway Router. Replacing the router should have been the call of the onsite Verizon Technician.

Today I received an email from Verizon confirming that they received the Fios Quantum Gateway Router that I sent back. The problem is that what I sent Verizon was the FIOS Router that they unnecessarily sent to me. I was afraid this would happen, so I made certain that I was being clear in the Verizon chat. Here is a brief excerpt of the chat;

User
     Just to clarify. I am returning the NEW modem that I did not ask for back to Verizon

Agent
     Yes, you’re correct

Agent
     You’re returning the new modem that you have

User
     Can’t you just send me a label?

Agent
     Let me try

Agent
     Please check your Email if you’ve received the label on the Email

Seems pretty clear to me! But yet again, Verizon screwed this up too. Some people think that I am too hard on Verizon. I can’t make this stuff up. This is a 102 year old company. Shouldn’t they know better?
